Job Description

The Special Events Coordinator helps coordinate Special Events for Casino Marketing, Casino Promotions, and Passport Rewards Center Activities. Coordinates with other departments that directly interact with the Special Events and Marketing Departments.

Duties:

  • Must be able to maintain a valid license with the Gaming Control Board.
  • Coordinates aspects of Special Events Operations working within budget constraints.
  • Analyze all data received from Casino Marketing regarding individuals participating in Special Events.
  • Supervise staff and event operations at designated events.
  • Write, design, and proofread all collateral materials for Special Events.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite Applications including Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with casino proprietary software for use in planning Special Events. (Amadeus, MGT, EVERI, AS400 applications)
  • Assist patrons contacting Special Events for information.
  • Handle special projects as designated by the Director of Special Events.
  • Distribute guest list 2-3 days before event to appropriate departments.
  • Retain and analyze accurate guest lists during and after events for a proper analysis of casino play.
  • Control Will Call at all in-house ticketed events.
  • Supervise all VIP players and Peppermill staff for transportation off property to all concerts, and city-wide events.
  • Needs to work under strict timelines to meet deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Prior casino experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Public Relations or related field preferred.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Ability to work a highly flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be personable and able to communicate with guests and employees both in person and on the telephone.
  • Must be organized, motivated, and willing to learn.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
