Job Description

Patient Care Coordinator
We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience through the enrollment, reimbursement, and access processes for prescribed therapies.

As a key advocate for patients, you will help navigate the complexities of insurance, co-pays, foundation assistance, and Patient Assistance Programs (PAP). You will work closely with healthcare providers to provide valuable support and information, addressing any non-clinical barriers to access and enhancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them through program enrollment, reimbursement, affordability support, and therapy access.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, offering detailed information about programs and supporting patient needs.
Collaborate with prescribers and patients to remove obstacles to accessing prescribed therapies, ensuring smooth transitions to treatment.
Act as an expert on insurance coverage, including private/commercial plans and government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and DOD).
Liaise with regional contacts, including sales representatives, to build partnerships and maintain effective communication.
Keep detailed and accurate records in compliance with program and regulatory standards.
Foster trust and rapport with both patients and healthcare providers, delivering a high level of service and care.
Key Skills:

Customer service and call center experience
Knowledge of medical insurance, including Medicaid, Medicare, and private/commercial plans
Prior authorization and insurance verification
Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare claims
Experience with case management and patient access coordination
Bilingual skills are a plus
Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, especially with Medicaid and Medicare programs
Previous experience in a patient-facing role, such as healthcare customer service or pharmacy benefit coordination
Understanding of the reimbursement process and care coordination
Familiarity with patient access and navigating insurance claims
Additional Information:

Onsite training will be provided for up to 30 days, followed by a remote work arrangement.
