Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of restaurant and cafe construction projects. This role requires hands-on supervision of job sites, coordination with subcontractors, and ensuring that all aspects of construction are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. In addition to fieldwork, this position includes select project management responsibilities, such as scheduling, budget oversight, and subcontractor relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations:

  • Supervise and manage daily activities on construction sites to ensure work is performed to specifications and standards.
  • Monitor progress to ensure that project schedules are met and address any delays or issues proactively.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
  • Inspect completed work to verify quality and adherence to project plans and local codes.
  • Oversee site setup, including equipment, materials, and temporary facilities.

Construction Scheduling:

  • Plan and coordinate detailed construction schedules to meet project milestones.
  • Ensure subcontractors and vendors are on schedule and prepared for their respective tasks.
  • Identify potential conflicts or bottlenecks and adjust schedules accordingly.


Subcontractor Relations:

  • Identify and vet potential subcontractors with expertise in restaurant construction.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and coordinate the scope of work for all subcontractors.


Budget Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
  • Track material orders, labor costs, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Owner Furnished Items.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients during construction, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure all plans and designs are executed correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during construction, maintaining a solutions-oriented approach.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in restaurant or commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors, and team members.


Working Conditions & Benefits:
