This position will be based in Chicago, IL (also open to considering candidates based in MI, IN, OH, MN or WI) and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

Join us at Gallo as an Account Manager for Category Development, where you will work closely with our customers to develop and execute both tactical and strategic business plans, driving the implementation of our category development initiatives. Your role will involve providing crucial analytical support, monitoring consumer insight data, and uncovering sales trends to optimize merchandising strategies and identify sales opportunities.

In this engaging position, you will conduct in-depth analysis and offer recommendations to our customers, helping them interpret results and identify business opportunities for Gallo products. You will interface directly with customer category decision-makers, recommending best practices and creating customized business solutions. Your ability to manage analytic projects from inception to completion and prioritize multiple projects will be key to your success.

You will utilize space planning tools to create and analyze schematics, provide guidance on data tools and syndicated data usage, and use sales reports to monitor progress and redirect strategies as needed. Your role will also involve identifying opportunities to grow Gallo's business across brick-and-mortar environments, online platforms, and third-party platforms. Embracing continuous improvement, you will demonstrate problem-solving abilities through data analysis, developing comprehensive solutions to business opportunities.

As a champion of innovation, you will embrace new technologies and support the commercialization of digital marketing programs. You will develop consultative relationships with customers, possess strong presentation skills, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. What You Will Need:

Master's degree plus 2 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Business, Economics, or Supply Chain plus 3 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
Required to travel by airplane and automobile to conduct job duties, up to 25% of the time.
Required to obtain Liquor License as required by state/locality.
Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart:

Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales or category development experience to include a prior rotation as a Market Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, Spirits Development Specialist, or Account Manager 1; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of external alcohol sales experience to include category development experience.
Skilled in statistical analysis and problem solving. Including advanced data retrieval and manipulation for key insights.
Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, GCO, IRI, Spectra, MS Excel and ProSpace at a basic level.

Compensation:

Hiring salary range posted: $84,645 - $133,700 / year
Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
