We recently moved to Mulberry due to increased growth and we are expanding our business even more.
We are currently looking to further develop our Design and Engineering Department and are need of full-time experienced 3D Designer and Draftsman who has knowledge and experience in the Metal Manufacturing Industry. This employee will be using certain software to create detailed designs for complex projects/jobs. Collaborating with others to ensure the prints and build of the project/job are to the specific expectations and measurements of the customers wants and needs, as well as the ability to problem solve if needed. Knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and materials. Ability to analyze data and situation and come up with creative solutions. This position is full-time with available benefits and contracted agreement.
3D DESIGN, DRAFTING & ENGINEERING JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Project Manager or Foreman, the 3D Draftsman performs a variety of design/drafting activities group including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, establishing guidelines and procedures for data management, and managing workload distribution within the department. Other duties to be performed as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and identifies requirements by studying and gathering proposals, prints, specifications, and related documents
Engineering, designing prints & drawings, taking, or reading measurements to plan layout, dimensions and procedures for prints, drawing, etc.
Determine the appropriate methods, departments, machines, materials etc. needed based on the project/job specifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience in 3D Design, drafting & engineering with at least 5 years of experience
Experience using autoCAD, Inventor or Solidworks programs
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of figuring and using measurements
Knowledge using a variety of machine equipment and procedures
Knowledge using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, drills, etc.)
Must know how to create BOM
Create fabrication and welding prints for shop use
Strong comprehension and analytical abilities
Reading fractions & decimals (must know how to convert fractions to decimals)
Good computer skills & BASIC mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and geometry)
Knowledge of shop & machine safety standards and use of protective gear & clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Ability to perform without difficulty and great attention to detail with goal-driven attitude
Employee must be dependable and capable of working overtime hours.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Professional Certifications is a plus
Experience with handling government data is a plus
